“The class is great. I am learning a lot, and the pace and format are working for me.”

“As a ‘non-blogger’ I found the Juicy Blogging E-Course to be of great value to me. It gave me basic understanding of the blogosphere and basic skills for how to incorporate a blog into my website. It was a good value to connect with Britt Bravo who has a great blog and lots of good insight.”

    Hi!

I’ve been toying with starting a blog for a good long while now and am very interested in taking your course as a way to kick start that process. Before I signed up though I wanted to make sure that was possible since it looks like the course is designed for folks with existing blogs.

When you have a moment, I’d love your thoughts and any advice you can share.

    Thanks!
    Alison

    Hi Alison,

I’ve had people take the course before starting their blog, but I think it helps to have one up, even if it only has one entry.

The course includes 3 kinds of fun-work:

    1. Reflection questions to refine your blog’s purpose
    2. Connection assignments to build community and traffic
    3. Creative and juicy blog post prompts to get you writing

#1 is easy to do without a blog. You can do some of #2 without a blog, but it would be more effective if you had one set up. #3 could be done as Word docs on your computer, but part of the fun is sharing links to your posts with the rest of the class.

Blogger.com and WordPress.com are pretty easy to set up on your own and are free. If you need help setting up a blog, I recommend Jennette Fulda of Make My Blog Pretty: http://makemyblogpretty.com

Thanks Britt! It sounds like perhaps I need to get started on my own (already) and sign up for the winter course (assuming you’re planning to have a winter course). ;)

    Hi Alison,

My tentative winter dates are January 23, -February 13, 2012. If you aren’t already on it, I would recommend signing up for my mailing list: http://bit.ly/brittsjuicyblognews Then you’ll know the new dates as soon as they are set.
