Are you feeling overwhelmed by the world right now? Being of service and using your gifts to help others may lift your spirits.
For many years I had a blog called Have Fun * Do Good and a podcast called the Big Vision Podcast. In both places, I profiled people who were working to make the world a better place. One of those people was Cami Walker, author of 29 Gifts: How a Month of Giving Can Change Your Life.

Faced with another morning of dismal news, I started thinking about Cami today, and about what a good antidote to these times the 29-Day Giving Challenge would be. I visited her Facebook page to see how she was doing and was shocked and deeply saddened to learn that she passed away in late April.
If you are spiraling into despair from everything going on in the world right now, try asking yourself,
How can I be of service today?
What is one small thing I can do to alleviate someone else’s suffering?
How can I share the gifts I’ve been given (resources, skills, natural talents) with someone else?
Cami was just one person, but she made a huge impact on many people’s lives. You can too. In small ways. Every day.
